AUFPV is selecting the Australian team for the 2026 FAI World Drone Racing Championship in Guangzhou, China.

The team can carry up to three pilots of any age or gender, plus one Junior and one female pilot, and a team manager. Any AUFPV member can nominate — nominating tells the selectors you are available and willing, and is not itself a selection.

Team Selection

Nominations close on the date shown below. The selection panel then reviews every nomination and announces the team. Selection is at the discretion of the panel. There is no formula and no automatic qualification — but these are the things we consider:

• Recent Competitive Results. Placings and times from recent Australian Drone Nationals, Qualifying and other events will be considered including the quality of competition raced against.
• Equipment and Preparation. Ability to meet FAI equipment requirements, sustain a working drones over a multi-day event overseas.
• Readiness to Compete. Ability to compete consistently with the ability to convert fast qualifying times into high performing results in finals.
• Readiness to Represent. You will be representing Australia on the international stage, both on and off the track. Sportsmanship, reliability and teamwork will be essential.
• Team Dynamics. AUFPV is selecting a team to win now and into the future. Consideration will be given to how a pilot will benefit Team Australia at this event and potentially at future events.
