IQ0 Goes Back-to-Back at the Australian Tiny Whoop Championships
IQ0 has gone back-to-back at the CubePilot Australian Tiny Whoop Championships, taking out the 2026 title in Canberra over a two day, LED-lit extravaganza of Tiny Whoop racing.
Day one was qualifying, with local pilot Davey FPV taking TQ by just 0.001 seconds over eventual champion IQ0. Pilots loved the bright, exciting LED track designed and built by Canberra Multirotor Racing Club members, who poured hours into creating a true spectacle.
It wasn't just racing either. Prizes were on offer for the first pilot ready to race and the first to send it through the crash pad, and everyone went home a winner thanks to raffles, wheel spins and plenty of goodies from the event sponsors.
Day two was down to business as elimination brackets kicked off. The youngest pilot in the field, Panda FPV, took out the E-Main. Mango, who finished 4th in E-Main, fought all the way up into the C-Main, the biggest climb from qualifying of any pilot at the event. Dellogator won the D-Main and pushed on into the B-Main, while Bin Chicken took the C-Main. In the B-Main, WheelzFPV took the win ahead of WedgeFPV and Maccas, a great showcase of the young Australian drone racing talent coming through.
Then it all came down to the A-Main. After qualifying 2nd by that 0.001, IQ0 showed why he's a force to be reckoned with, setting new fastest laps in each of his finals and ultimately beating the top qualifying time by 1.582 seconds in race conditions during the Chase the Ace final.
It wasn't all smooth sailing. In the second Chase the Ace final, minor errors handed Davey FPV the lead, and on the last lap it looked certain he'd force a third race. But Davey got caught in gate cabling, ending his lap early, and IQ0 got home with Magic Soup hot on his heels.
A huge thank you to Timmytron for putting on the event and to the Canberra Multirotor Racing Club for all their work supporting him. This event is quickly becoming a must-attend for pilots around the country.
With the Tiny Whoop Championship in the bag and the Nationals just around the corner, could IQ0 become the first Australian pilot to complete the Grand Slam of all three national titles in a single year: the Tiny Whoop Championship, Open Class Nationals and ProSpec Nationals? We'll find out on the first Sunday in October.
