IQ0 takes the ace in Sydney and books his MultiGP Champs ticket

IQ0 has taken out the inaugural MultiGP Australian Regional Final, held in Sydney on Sunday 2 August 2026. Hosted by Outerheaven Drone Racing, the final brought together 22 pilots who had qualified through the regional series to race for a ticket to this year's MultiGP Championships.

IQ0 led from the front, taking pole position as the only pilot to break the 10 second lap barrier in qualifying. Digsky, who won the Eastside FPV regional qualifier and earned automatic entry to the final, qualified 2nd. Fizz, also a regional qualifier winner, qualified 3rd.

The elimination rounds produced some surprising results. Davey FPV, winner of CMRC's regional qualifier, fell from 4th in qualifying to finish 7th overall, while clubmate Magic Soup came the other way, qualifying 10th and finishing 5th. The biggest upset was Panorama Drone Racing's regional qualifier winner MacDaddy, who dropped from 6th in qualifying to 22nd overall.

After the carnage of the eliminations we were left with a top four for Chase the Ace: IQ0, Digsky, Fizz and Ironoid. Three pilots from Eastside FPV and one from Outer Heaven Drone Racing.

IQ0 took the first ace in race one, with Digsky coming from behind to take 2nd.

In the second final Digsky threw down the challenge, forcing at least one more race with a win in a race full of carnage. Ironoid and Fizz both failed to finish, and IQ0 came home 10 seconds behind Digsky.

Having forced a third Chase the Ace final, Digsky couldn't hold off a fast and determined IQ0, who took his second major win of the year. You can watch the 3D replay of the race here.

With the MultiGP Regional Series done for another year in Australia, attention now turns to the Australian Drone Nationals. The final gave a number of contenders a chance to see how they fared against each other in the lead-up to the multiday event in Brisbane.

Digsky is one to watch. After finishing 14th in 2025, he has shown he has the skill and the speed to mix it with the best, and he will be hoping to feature in the top six final. Fizz also comes into Nationals with form. He finished 4th in 2025 and 11th at his most recent outing at the MultiGP International Open, and he won't be satisfied with anything less than a podium in 2026.

All eyes, though, are on IQ0. First at the Tiny Whoop Championships, fastest Australian pilot in qualifying for Drone Nationals, and now a ticket to the MultiGP Championships. He goes into the Australian Drone Nationals in form, at pace, and ready to take his first crown. IQ0 is also uniquely positioned to make history in 2026 as the first pilot to win an Australian Grand Slam: all three major classes of racing, Tiny Whoop, Open Class and ProSpec.
